Welcome to Boudoir by Michael Jacobs

I'd love to say thank you for your interest in Boudoir by Michael Jacobs. Our sessions are sensual, discreet and tailored to your ideas. From the very first inquiry we look to understand what you want to get out of your photoshoot. Everyone who inquires gets a personalized questionnaire, wardrobe assistance and some helpful tips to make sure confidence is the only thing you're wearing during your session. We've worked with countless individuals who have never set foot in front of a camera. We understand the apprehension. It's why we make the session fun with lots of laughs, dancing and try to create an atmosphere where you feel in control, not the photographer. Below is a complete list of experiences that you can choose from. Just want photos? There is a simple option for that. Would you love to have the day to yourself and pampered so you may forget this crazy world for a little while? We have a package for that. Do not hesitate to start the process by filling out a simple inquiry form at the bottom. We can't wait to see you!

FAQ

How do I book?

Simple! Send me a note in the contact form and I will respond back to you within 24 hours. A 30% booking fee is required to hold your shoot day. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session. I accept all major credit cards, debit and cash.

Should I buy clothing for this?

You can. I don't encourage it. Part of the initial consultation and ongoing dialogue with what to wear is helping you choose the outfits(or sometimes pieces of cloth) that flatter you, work with your ideas and overall fit well. Too many times people have raced to purchase items at a store that they have never worn before. This is a recipe for not feeling comfortable. A t shirt can be sensual, so can a blanket. Don't spend too much time thinking about purchasing items. Spend time thinking about what you want to get from this session.

What can I do to prepare for my session?

I cover this in depth when we chat but I can give you some parameters. Watch your salt intake the day before. Always drink lots of water and get a good night's rest. If you partake in shaving or waxing or general grooming please do it 2-3 days before the session. Come to the session in your most comfy sweats and stay away from anything that causes lines. This includes undergarments, socks, jeans. This all makes things go much more smoothly on the processing side.

Can I bring a friend?

Well behaved confidants are always welcome. I want you to be comfortable and sometimes a close friend is just what you need for that confidence boost. A makeup artist is also on site for a good majority of the process to help assist in those areas. Note; in times of Covid the amount of people in a room may be limited to 3.

Do you use photoshop?

Yes. Almost every photo you see other than the newspaper has been retouched in some aspect. The world of retouching is good and also very bad. I do most of my work with you and the camera. This means perfecting angles and helping you with poses to flatter you. Minor tweaks and enhancements are later added but I will never change the shape of people or utilize heavy skin retouching. I want you to always look like you. In our consultation I ask what attributes are important to you versus ones you may want to minimize.

Do you have Covid 19 protocols?

Most certainly. My team will always be wearing masks throughout your session. I only work with licensed cosmetologists that are trained in hygiene and now covid protocols. I personally have invested in longer lenses so I do no not have to cross a close threshold of personal space. This was true in the times before Covid but I'm just stressing my protocols now. We encourage the clients to wear masks when not having makeup done or during the actual session. I take care of my elder parents. I take this with utmost seriousness.

Are my photos safe?

You're photos are always safe. Because of the intimate nature of these shots, extra care is given to the digital galleries you view. They are hidden from any prying eyes on the client portion of my website. Your password will only unlock them and also encrypted.
Boudoir by Michael Jacobs does not use personal boudoir photos for marketing UNLESS specifically given written permission by the client. Your photos are also safe from any corruption/digital harm being backed up in 3 places.

Do people have an issue with you being a male boudoir photographer?

Not that I have ever experienced. I want clients to be comfortable and relaxed. Most of the sessions are spent laughing on the floor and making weird faces between shots. I encourage people to have a consultation and chat. I also always work with a team so the environment is always inviting and fun. I don't believe your sex should determine your comfort level but I understand where many people may be in their thought processes. Clients exclusively come to be because of my demeanor(I'm a bit of a funny nut) and ability to make them just relax.
